Redesign for Shopify Plus brand

We worked with a popular European skincare brand to redesign their website and increase their sales.

Background:

Ina Essentials is a Shopify Plus brand selling in 25+ countries. They offer a range of skin care products and have developed a customer base that loves their brand and products.

The Problem:

Despite Ina’s growing success, their outdated website design was a big bottleneck to sales.

Ina did not have any in-house team members experienced in UX, development or conversion optimization, so they sought an outside partner to update their website.

How we worked together:

  • We initially ran through all of Ina’s existing data and analytics to identify the biggest conversion drop-offs
  • We also spoke with their team members to understand their level of knowledge of Shopify so that we could prepare a solution they can efficiently work with
  • We ran regular check-ins with their team to go through the progress and explain why we’re doing what we’re doing in the redesign

Main issues discovered:

  • Ina’s website had a poor homepage, offering a huge range of products but with little guidance  and categorization.
  • They had been using the same creatives and product photography for over 2 years, which did not visually stimulate users into being as excited about the product as possible
  • The product page above-fold section was organized well, however lacked a lot of brand and product specific information after the fold.
  • Ina used a lot of apps for additional functionalities, which slowed down their website

What we have implemented:

  • Creating a new store design with a premium theme that matched their updated branding and designed based on the finding from the analytics
  • The new theme used features that replaced the need to use apps that were slowing down their website
  • We worked with a photography partner to shoot new creatives for use in their new website
  • We have performed speed optimization on the new website to improve UX and SEO

Main results:

  • 30% increase in Ina’s average order value 1 month after launching the redesign website
  • Rebranded and user-friendly design
  • Site speed increased by 100%
